For Altınbaş students will learn

  • Parasite Biology: Understanding life cycles, morphology, and host-parasite interactions for protozoa (Plasmodium, Toxoplasma, Leishmania, etc.) and nematodes.
  • Transmission & Epidemiology: Exploring how parasites spread (e.g., vectors like mosquitoes and ticks) and their global distribution, with a focus on risk factors and prevention.
  • Immune Response: Learning how the immune system reacts to parasitic infections and how parasites evade immune defenses.
  • Clinical Manifestations: Identifying symptoms and differentiating between parasitic diseases based on clinical presentations.
  • Diagnosis: Mastering techniques such as microscopy, PCR, and serological tests to diagnose parasitic infections.
  • Treatment & Prevention: Understanding drug treatments, resistance, vector control, and the development of vaccines.
  • Public Health: Studying strategies to prevent parasitic diseases through hygiene, sanitation, and public health interventions.
